FREE 7-11 year olds Fencing Beginners' Taster Session (school years 3-6)
Thame Leisure Centre
18:00 – 19:00
Ever wanted to learn how to swordfight? Try a FREE, no-obligation taster session for the latest beginners course with Thame Duellists Fencing Club! This session will introduce you to the skills you will learn on a fencing beginners course. By the end of the session you'll be trying out facing an opponent, sword in hand. Fencing is an exciting, modern Olympic sport but one which is also rich in history. It's suitable for all ages and you can progress at your own pace, whether you want intense competition with high-tech equipment or prefer a gentler, more social experience exploring the graceful movements of fencing or the mental challenge of facing an opponent - or combine all three! No special equipment is required - we provide everything you'll need. We recommend that participants wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing - a t-shirt, tracksuit trousers and trainers is ideal - and bring a bottle of water. For those who wish to continue, this free taster is followed by regular 6-7pm sessions for 7-11 year olds on Thursday evenings during  term; to take part in these, you will need to sign up for a club membership for this age group at https://thameduellistsfencingclub.tidyhq.com/public/membership_levels. By booking a place at one of our sessions, you are confirming that: you are not displaying any COVID symptoms at the point the session takes place; you agree to abide by the club's rules and those of the leisure centre; and to follow the instructions of those running the session.
